28 e Air travel to Basel Just 15 minutes’ drive from the city centre and well served by buses, the EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse- Freiburg boasts more than 90 direct flights within Eu- rope, North Africa, Canada and Russia. All other des- tinations can be reached via intercontinental hubs or nearby Zurich airport. EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is jointly oper- ated by France and Switzerland. It takes just over 20 minutes to get to the city centre on bus no. 50. Confirmation of your hotel or Airbnb reservation serves as a free ticket for transfer from the airport to your hotel. e Journey to Basel by Car Basel is easy to reach by car, as it is situated between the European north-south and east-west motorway junctions. Basel’s hotels and its car parks offer plenty of parking. A vignette (toll road sticker) is required to use the Swiss motorway network. You can purchase it for CHF 40 at all customs offices, post offices, petrol stations, garages and road traffic offices. e Travel to Basel by Boat On a river cruise you can reach the city directly via the Rhine. There are three landing stages in the St. Johann and Klybeck districts as well as directly at the border triangle. e Travel to Basel by Train Basel’s railway stations enjoy frequent domestic and international services. Trains from France arrive at the French railway station, which is right next to the Swiss (SBB) station. Guests travelling from Germany can choose whether to get off at Basel SBB or at the German station (Badischer Bahnhof) near the exhibition centre. e How to get around Thanks to its manageable size, the city of Basel is easy to explore on foot. Besides this, Basel’s modern public transportation sys- tem encompasses a large network of trams and buses, which allows visitors to get around quickly and comfort- ably in the city and even across borders to the neighbour- ing countries of Germany and France. In addition, Basel offers an alternative way of transporta- tion with easy to hire e-bikes (Guest Bike Basel). e How to get to the Congress Center By tram The tram lines 1 or 2 (from SBB/SNCF train stations) as well as lines 2 or 6 (from German train station) stop di- rectly at CCB (stop: Messeplatz). e Hotels in Basel CPO HANSER SERVICE GmbH has reserved a large number of rooms in various hotels in Basel, in different price categories.
