The LOC has select- ed “Anúna”, Ireland’s Celtic Choir with the voice of Riverdance to perform a hauntingly beautiful and quintessentially Irish concert for the ECP audience. As a uniquely Irish experi- ence, getting a chance to see Anuna perform live in Ireland is incredibly rare. Anúna was formed in Ireland in 1987. The group has recorded 18 albums and achieved a very high level of international suc- cess, including a significant role in Riverdance from 1994 to 1996. They have toured world- wide including 52 concerts across the USA promoting the release of two PBS specials, the first album of which “Celtic Origins” went to number one on the Billboard World Music Soundscan charts. The group performs songs (some of which are many centuries old) that combine ancient texts with more modern well known Irish pieces. The earliest performances of Anuna occurred in beautiful Christ Church Cathedral, and the group are delighted to be returning after so many years to do a full con- cert, especially for this audience.
