242 Social Events e Opening Ceremony Saturday, 7 September 2024 e 19:00 – 20:00 Cavaniglia, Fortezza da Basso Join the official Opening Ceremony of the 36 th European Congress of Pathology in Cavaniglia at Fortezza da Basso. During the ceremony, there will be words of welcome by the President of the ESP, the Chair of the Lo- cal Organising Committee of ECP 2024 and a performance by a highly animated pianist and singer, Antonio Sorgentone, winner of Italia’s Got Talent in 2019. Enjoy Antonios music. He is renowned for playing the pia- no with his feet and is specialized in 1950s style Boogie Woogie, Rock N’ Roll and classic Italian Swing. The Opening Ceremony will be followed by a Welcome Reception in the exhibition area on Spadolini Ground Floor at Spadolini Pavilion. e Congress Evening Wednesday, 11 September 2024 e 20:00 – 24:00 Nazioni Pavilion, Fortezza da Basso The Grand Finale of the ECP 2024 will guide you to Nazioni Pavilion at Fortezza da Basso. Enjoy the final evening of this year’s congress with delicious Italian food and dance the night away! Please purchase your ticket at least one day prior to the respective event. e Congress Concert Tuesday, 10 September 2024 e 20:00 – 21:15 Palazzo Vecchio, Salone de 500 Salone de 500 This year’s Congress Concert will take place at the city hall of Florence, Palazzo Vecchio, in one of Italy’s largest and most valuable halls – Sala dei Cinquecento. This beautiful hall has been decorated by Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti. The renowned piano player Sandro Ivo Bar- toli from Tuscany will give a sampling of his wide-ranging musical scope, including a rare performance of Giacomo Puccini's complete piano oeuvre on the occasion of the Maestro's 100 th anniversary of death.
