Deadline for abstract submission: 10 April 2018

Applicants of symposia and workshops are hereby kindly

invited to submit an abstract for contributions to the

14

th

World Congress of Biological Psychiatry inVancouver

by using the online submission form on the congress web-

site

www.wfsbp-congress.org .

Please note that online submission is mandatory. Each

symposium and workshop at the 14

th

World Congress of

Biological Psychiatry in Vancouver is scheduled for 90

minutes which equals four speakers chaired by two scien-

tists.

Chairs are kindly asked to submit proposals for scientific

symposia and workshops according to the topic list on

page 10. All proposals submitted online will be consid-

ered by the International Scientific Programme Commit-

tee. The notification about the acceptance or rejection of

symposia and workshops will be sent by email in June

2018. Speakers of accepted symposia and workshops will

later on be asked to submit individual abstracts for their

presentations. All authors and presenters will be expected

to declare any potential conflict of interest in the first slide

of their presentation.

Chairs, co-chairs and speakers of accepted symposia and

workshops will receive a 50% discount on the regular

congress fees. Please note that the congress does not pro-

vide any further financial support.

Travel costs and accommodation should be self-financed.

GUIDELINES FOR THE PREPARATION OF SYMPOSIA

AND WORKSHOP ABSTRACTS

The chairs of symposia and workshops are kindly asked to

submit a descriptive abstract in English including the

names of the chair, co-chair, and four speakers. As a chair,

please make sure that you have received the acceptance

of all speakers involved in the symposium or workshop.

Please note that the abstract submission constitutes a for-

mal commitment by the authors to present the correspond-

ing presentation in the session and time slots assigned by

the International Scientific Programme Committee.

In accordance with the international approach of the

WFSBP, the speakers should have diverse geographical

backgrounds.

Please provide the chair’s name (full first name, family

name) and place of work (institution, city, country) as

well as degrees, titles and street address when submit-

ting the abstract.

In addition, please submit names, countries and affilia-

tions of the co-chair and the speakers.

Please choose a topic from the topic list on page 10.

The text of the abstract should briefly state the content

of the symposium or workshop with a maximum of 300

words.

Please choose a title that clearly indicates the content of

the contribution.

Please avoid abbreviations in the title. Abbreviations

may be used in the text if they are defined when used

first.

CAPITALS in titles, abstracts or affiliations should only

be used if necessary (e.g. DNA).
