Welcome Address
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is now the fifth time that the World Congress on ADHD takes place, and we are happy to remem-
ber our tradition of bringing together healthcare specialists from all around the world, dedicated
to this challenging and extremely relevant mental disorder.
More than 2,000 participants from 86 countries attended our last meeting in Milan. We got
enthusiastic comments confirming that this was a key meeting for acquiring the most recent and
authoritative information on all aspects of ADHD.
We welcome you to Glasgow and we are very proud to have the chance to organize once again a
top level event, adressing key issues in the field of ADHD. A warm and friendly atmosphere will
encourage the participants to share their experience and knowledge with each other.
Our key issues are: New advances in ADHD diagnosis, treatment and neurobiology, as well as
controversial issues in the field.
Again, we have the priviledge of counting on a large number of renowned speakers with a lot of
experience. They are willing to share their knowledge on current issues in formats such as Plenary
sessions, Hot topic symposia, Educational seminars and Meet-the-expert sessions. In addition,
young scientists are invited to present their findings in Young scientist award sessions. We are
expecting to show around more than 300 posters, which will be presented in Guided poster tours.
You are welcome to attend and discuss them with our young scientists.
Furthermore, three new formats will be introduced in the upcoming Congress: In our Late breaking
news, speakers present very new research results in the field of preclinical and clinical research on
ADHD. In the Grand round and Historical case, clinical cases will be discussed by some of the most
reputed ADHD experts.
Glasgow is the ideal place for this meeting. The beautiful city is located at the River Clyde, close to
the Atlantic Ocean. With approximately 600,000 citizens and roughly 2 million in the greater re-
gion, the city invites you to discover its medevial architecture during pleasant strolls. In the city
traditional businesses go hand in hand with modern life. If you are interested in art, the city centre
is the home to the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) and the McLellan Galleries, built in 1855–56,
now considered the largest quality, climate-controlled, temporary exhibition gallery in Scotland.
Take the chance to aquire the latest knowledge in the field of ADHD and network with old and
new friends.
Thank you very much for your participation!
Yours sincerely,
Luis A. Rohde
